Mr. Gibbons was the beloved husband of the former Patricia Frances Desmond; dear father of Frank and Elizabeth Gibbons of London; Mary and her husband, Warren Weber, of Stratford; Sheila and her husband, Robert Cuillerier of Ailsa Craig; Ruth and her hus- band, Paul Bechberger of London; brother of Rev. Sister M. Irenita of Mount St. Joseph's, London; Agnes O'Hagan and Angela O'Hagan, both of Jamestown, New York. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren: Vicky Waite, Francine Metcalf, Patricia, James and John Gibbons, Denise and Danny Weber, Ruth, Kathryn and Robert Cuillerier, Paul, Joe, Mary and Laura Bech- berger and three great-grandchil- dren: Jessica and Ryan Metcalf and David Waite. He was predeceased by his daughter, Patricia; his par- ents, Patrick Gibbons and Catherine Ryan; his sisters, Mary and Kath- leen and brothers, Francis, Joseph, Blair and Father John. Friends called at The McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, on Sun- day afternoon. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Wingham, on Monday at 10:30. Altar servers were Paul and Joe Bechberger of London, his grand- sons. His son-in-law, Paul Bech- berger, was lay reader. Pallbearers were James and John Gibbons, Danny Weber, Jerry Bro- phy, lan Waite and Brad Metcalf. Two granddaughters, Mary and Laura Bechberger, were flower bearers. Mr. Gibbons' ttnat resting pteee will be Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery. Donations to. the Childhood Cancer Research Association would be appreciated' as expressions of sympathy., Eugene H. Force dies in his 93rd year A resident of the town of Wing - ham for a number of years, Eugene Henry Force of 142 Victoria Street, died in Wingham and District Hos- pital on Wednesday, April 5. He was 92 years of age and death fol- lowed a brief illness. Mr. Force was born at Force's Corners, Ontario, on Jan. 21, 1897, a son of the late Cicero Force and Alberta Coon. After graduating from elementary school, he attend- ed Brantford -Collegiate Institute and Vocational School. He served in World War I, then became a busi- nessman, working in retail and manufacturing. He worked for the government, for the Wartime Prices and Trades Beard, from 1940 until 1947. He sold his manufacturing business when he retired at age 72 but continued to buy and sell real estate. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club in Galt. In Lockport, New York, on Aug. 8 8, 1927, he married the former Grace E. Brown, who survives. He was prede- ceased by one son, David, in 1932. Complete funeral service was held at The McBurney Funeral Home at one o'clock on Friday, con- ducted by Rev, J. Rea Grant of Wingham United Church where Mr. Force was a member. Crema- tion followed. Honorary pallbearers were Victor McLeod, Blake McLeod, Robert Stuart and Kevin Stuart. Births McLELLAN—Mr. and Mrs. Dave McLellan of Blyth are pleased to announce the birth of their daugh- ter, Stacey Nicole, born April 7 at Wingham and District Hospital. The new arrival, a sister for Scott, weighed six pounds, four ounces and is a granddaughter for Clem and Edna McLellan of Brussels and Bob and Betty Mole of Dungannon. JOHNSTON—Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Johnston of Teeswater happily announce that their son, David Alan, has arrived. The baby was born April 2 at Wingham and District Hospital and weighed seven pounds, 15 ounces. ROBERTSON—Passed away at University Hospital, London, on Sunday, April 9, Mrs. Colleen Robertson of RR 2, Bluevale, in her 54th year.
