Howick had an excellent first
period out -scoring their opponent
3-1. Andrew Weber and Philip Liv
ermore combined after 'only 20 sec
'ends of `play to give Howick a 1 -
lead. Weber's low shot seemed t
fool the goalie.
Before the two minute mark Greg
McNevan tied the score with a
power play goal. Thirteen seconds
later Weber and Livermore com-
bined again with Weber pulling the
trigger to give Howick a 2-1 advan-
tage. Sam Doubleday started the
play.
At the 8:05 mark Ryan Gallaher
banged home a rebound off a Jason
Douglas slapshot to increase the
lead to two goals after one period
of play.
The teams exchanged second
period goals. Brian Zabel narrowed
the snore to 3-2 with another power
play goal. With the teams playing
four on four Jason Douglas drove a
hard slapshot past the goalie. Galla-
her and Wheeler drew assists.
Midway through the period
Philip Livermore re-injured his leg
and missed ,,the rest of the game. At
this point the remaining nine play-
ers seemed to put forth a second
effort on each play and as a result
played a super game, especially
defensively.
Goaltender Christian Feldskov
came up big on several occasions.
The remainder of the second
period and the entire third frame
was played without a goal being
scored. The end result was a well-
deserved 4-2 decision for the How -
ick lads.
