CIBC FUNDRAISING WEEK—The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in Wingham will be sell-
ing microwave popcorn, as well as peanuts this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to raise money for a
very good cause — the Children's Hospital of Western Ontario. Phil Marusaik, Peg Lockridge, Elaine
Walton and Grant Currie sampled the popcorn last week and report it is delicious. The fund-raising is
a kick-off event for this spring's Children's Miracle Network Telethon.

Curling club
hosts bonspiel
The Howick Curling Club hosted
a bonspiel last month.
Winner of the nine o'clock draw
was the rink of Don Adams, Karen
Chambers, Mark and JoyceAdaras.
The Steven Wylie• rink of Harris -
ton won the 11 o'clock draw. Mem-
bers included Ann Heinmiller,
Brian Hastie and Michelle Rintoul.
Special thanks go to the local
businesses which donated trophies
and items for the door prizes.
Steven Taylor also is to be com-
mended for the ice conditions.
The club will hold a piotluck sup-
per on April 8 at the Wroxeter hall
for all curlers and spares. This will
be followed by the annual meeting
and dance. Tickets may be obtained
by calling Sandy MacEwen at 327-

Sunday at Trinity Anglican Church,
followed by a parish breakfast. The
Easter service was held at the regu-
lar time with special music provid-

Balloon comes
from sister city
A balloon launched recently from
Wingham's sister city of Standish,
Michigan, was found yesterday
(Monday) by Peter Meurs of RR 5,
Wingham.
The name inside the balloon is
that of Matthew Shoultes, a student
of Standish Elementary School.

KNITTER KRITTERS
The fourth meeting of the Ford-
wich Knitter Kritters was held
March 21 at the home of Connie
D'Arcey.
The meeting started at 7:30 p.m.
with the roll call, 4-H Pledge and
reading of the minutes. Everyone
showed their tension swatches and
some members even displayed
their knitting projects which are
well on the way to being complet-
ed.
The meeting then continued with
each member taking a turn at read-
ing about blocking, seams and spin-
• fling -
The meeting ended with an enjo-
yable game of "Woody Words
Relay". The club was divided into
two groups which competed to
answer the questions correctly. The
team with the most correct answers
in the shortest period of time won.
Joyce Lockie then helped the girls
fill in an activity about the type of
yarn they are using for ,lheir own
knittingprojects.
• Angela Meyer hosted, the March
28 trikeehng. ,
The group toured the Spinrite
yarn plant at Listowel on the morn-
ing of March 13. The tour guides
took the girls through each differ-
ent part of the plant, as if they were
all raw wood being propessed into
a packaged ball to be shipped away.
They also viewed the spinning,
binding, dyeing and packaging pro-
cesses. The club members thank all
