I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter weekend with their family and friends. This week we will be having our Easter din- ners. Today, the Sacred Heart School Choir will,be entertaining us and after, we will have a giant East- er egg hunt. Our fund-raising dance in Brus- sels on March 18 was another huge success. Many thanks to all who came to support the day centre. I'd also like to thank our fund-raising committee who spend a lot of time organizing, planning and running these events. Without the time and effort these caring people offer, the day centre would not be able to operate. National Volunteer Week is the first week of April. Many people volunteer their time and services to organizatipns in the community. The dayntre has close to 70 vol- unteers and in appreciation for all their hard work, we Will be hosting a potluck dinner on the evening of Wednesday, April 5. Our guest speaker for the evening will be Wingham Police Chief Robert Wit- tig. A special performance by The Stewed Prunes is also in line for the evening. Many grandchil- dren will be getting a special treat this Easter, made by our own hands. Marg deBoer, a public health nurse with the Huron County Health Unit, will be visiting with us Wednesday afternoon to give us more information about the Alzheimer's support group. On Thursday„ we'll try our luck with bowling at the Lucky Wood Lanes in Lucknow. If you are available to help us on this day, please give us a call. Our next foOt clinic is scheduled for March 29. Please call the day centre at 357-1440 or 357-1445 to schedule an appointment. A notice to all volunteers that our workshop on fire and emergency procedures has been changed to Monday, April 10, at 1:30 p.m. at the fire hall. We encourage all vol- unteers to attend. March is National Heart Month and we are trying to keep active and eat healthy. As March draws tc an end it is important to keep ir mind that living a healthy lifestyli is important all year 'round. China is focus.of Three Ms meeting The focus was on China at the March meeting of the Three Ms group of St. Andrew's Presbyteriart Church, Wingham. Mr. and Mrs. Dawson Pollock gave a slide presentation on their November visit to China. They said China is about the size of Canada and has one of the oldest cultures in the world. Its population is one bil- lion people. The Pollocks climbed the Great Wall of China, which is quite a feat. The wall is over 2,000 years old and all built by hand. The couple claiined they felt quite safe during their stay in China, even though the streets are poorly lit. They also said they enjoyed their meals, eating with chopsticks. The devotional meeting, con- vened by Mr. and Mrs. Alex Robert- son, had an Easter theme. Mr. Robertson welcomed the group and opened with a poem entitled "East- er, The Beginning". Mrs. Robertson read the scripture from the Book of Luke about the Resurrection. She also gave a medi- tation on "New Life and New Hope" before offering a prayer. Mr. Robertson gave the thought: "This is the day the Lord has made, so let us rejoice in it." The president, Mrs. Len Phillips, presided for the business portion of the meeting and Cora Robertson entertained with piano selections. Delicious refreshments were served and a social time enjoyed. The 4-H Pledge opened the meeting and the secretary read the minutes of the last meeting. The roll call was read and then answered before the meeting was read over in the books. The girls worked on their pro- jects and were told to have their books up to date by the next meet- ing, March 30 at 7:30 p.m., at the Marklevitz home. THE WOOLY LAMBS BELGRAVE—The first meeting of the Wooly Lambs was held Feb. 20. The Wooly Lambs are Carol Hopper, Karen Montgomery, Jen- nifer Elston and Julie Elston. The leaders of the flock are Arlyn Mont- gomery and Isabel Campbell. The girls began their meeting with the 4-H Pledge and started their samplers. The sampler is made up of all different kinds of stitches. They learned how to do the knit, purl and stocking stitches. STAMPER—Doug and Joan Stamper, along with sisters Lisa and Pamela are thrilled to announce the arrival of Janine Danielle, seven pounds, 12 ounces, on March 14 at St. Joseph's Health Centre, London. Janine is another granddaughter for Wendell and Evelyn Stamper, Blue - vale and Maurice and Ruth van der Meer, Clinton. WORMINGTON—Mr. and Mrs. Roger Wormington, RR 1, Wing - ham, proudly announce the birth of their daughter, Amelia Marie, on March 18 at Wingham and District Hospital. The new arrival tipped the scales at an even eight pounds and is a granddaughter for John and Isabel McInnes and Roy and Catherine Wormington. WRIGHT—Mr. and Mrs. Steven Wright, RR 3, Holyrood, are happy to announce the birth of their son, Christopher William, 10 pounds, 12 ounces, on March 19 at Wingham and District Hospital.
