We had a difficult time last week
saying –Happy Easter", For some
reason, "Sloppy Easter" kept slip-
ping out instead. I hope everyone
enjoyed their Easter weekend with
their family and friends. This week
we will be having our Easter din-
ners. Today, the Sacred Heart
School Choir will,be entertaining us
and after, we will have a giant East-
er egg hunt.
Our fund-raising dance in Brus-
sels on March 18 was another huge
success. Many thanks to all who
came to support the day centre. I'd
also like to thank our fund-raising
committee who spend a lot of time
organizing, planning and running
these events. Without the time and
effort these caring people offer, the
day centre would not be able to
operate.
National Volunteer Week is the
first week of April. Many people
volunteer their time and services to
organizatipns in the community.

their hard work, we Will be hosting
a potluck dinner on the evening of
Wednesday, April 5. Our guest
speaker for the evening will be
Wingham Police Chief Robert Wit-
tig. A special performance by The
Stewed Prunes is also in line for the

China is focus.of
Three Ms meeting
The focus was on China at the
March meeting of the Three Ms
group of St. Andrew's Presbyteriart
Church, Wingham.
Mr. and Mrs. Dawson Pollock
gave a slide presentation on their
November visit to China. They said
China is about the size of Canada
and has one of the oldest cultures in
the world. Its population is one bil-
lion people.
The Pollocks climbed the Great
Wall of China, which is quite a feat.
The wall is over 2,000 years old and
all built by hand.
The couple claiined they felt
quite safe during their stay in
China, even though the streets are
poorly lit. They also said they
enjoyed their meals, eating with
chopsticks.
Both Dawson and Joyce Pollock
gave a thorough commentary to

The devotional meeting, con-
vened by Mr. and Mrs. Alex Robert-
son, had an Easter theme. Mr.
Robertson welcomed the group and
opened with a poem entitled "East-
er, The Beginning".
Mrs. Robertson read the scripture
from the Book of Luke about the
Resurrection. She also gave a medi-
tation on "New Life and New
Hope" before offering a prayer. Mr.
Robertson gave the thought: "This
is the day the Lord has made, so let
us rejoice in it."
The president, Mrs. Len Phillips,
presided for the business portion of
the meeting and Cora Robertson
entertained with piano selections.
Delicious refreshments were served
and a social time enjoyed.
