become season champions.
Helen's-Tigercats and Marg's
Bombers are tied in second place
with 95 points, while Willis' Wimp-
les are third with 87, Betty's Blue

Wayne Irvine had a good night,
taking the men's high single of 214
and the high triple of 593. Evelyne
Stephens rolled the ladies' high sin-
gle of 245 and Betty Burley had the
high triple of 595.

was rolled by Bonnie Cleghorn.

On March 21, Barry's Beer Bugs

The second monthly horsethoe
tournament was held last Saturday
at the Wingham Sportsmen's Club,
The spring weather attracted a
large crowd of competitors.
On the 'A° side, Tom Murray and
Fred Wickens, both of Kitchener,
were first with seven wins and a
plus of 51.
Jack Arnold of Mildmay and
Bary Ward of Monkton were sec-
ond, six wins and a plus of 63, Gene
Marks of Kitchener and Syd Law-
son, Goderich, were third, six wins
and a plus of 53.
Willie Halter of Kitchener and
Glen Casemore, Wingham, were
fourth with six wins and a plus of
52. In fifth spot were Ivan Gardner
of Wingham and Jack Ward, Monk -
ton, five wins and a plus of 82.
Harold Carter of Goderich- and
Lorne Hamilton, Wingham, were
sixth with four wins and a plus of
96. Wayne Sachs of Hanover and
Laverne Hoegy, Dublin, were sev-
enth with four wins and a plus of
86, while Art Woodcock of ICitchen-
er and Grant Wall of Cobourg were
eighth with four wins and a plus of
62.
Tom Dooley of Kitchener and
Harold Pridham, Staffa, were ninth
with two wins and a plus of 131.
Rounding out the scoring in tenth
place were Bob Saunders of Arthur
and Ken Lee of Waterloo, one win
and a plus of 138.
On the 'B' side, Lori Gavreluk of
Wingham and John Wickens of
Kitchener, were first with seven
wins and a plus of 23.
Chuck Meyer of Mildmay and
Jim Rivett, Dungannon, were sec-
ond with six wins and a plus of 34,
playing off with the third-place
team of Frank Church of Staffa and
Charles Trapp, Wmgham, to deter-
mine a winner.
Eugene Kuntz of Walkerton and
Murray McLennan, Wingham, were
fourth with six wins and a plus of
33, while Bob Gavreluk of Wing -
ham and Doug Hoegy, Dublin,
wound up in fifth spot with four
wins and a plus of 91. ,
