Some of mY- inei . hbors and I
attended the annual meeting of the
Beef Producers for Change and
were all_ surprised and disappoint-
ed to hear nothing about this spec-
tacular six -to -ten -cent price rise.
The annual meeting of this so-
called grassroots organization was
presented with a sketchy verbal
financial statement (no printed
statement),, and most of the meeting
was taken up with pronouncements
from the podium with an absolute
minimum. of participation from the
audience. A few resolutions were
voted on with practically no discus-
sion by the approximately 40 to 50
people who were voting.

Dear Editor:

There have been nu nervus; stud•-

have tried to correct the situation,
but to no avail. Itis time for the
people who want the dam to do
something directly to rebuild it.
At this time, we are building a
citizens' committee. We have repre-
sentation fromt;the-Optimist Club,
The kinsmen, the tions,, and sever-
al individuals who Seellittiteed.
Our town council has expressed
its support and as well, the Mait-
land Valley Conservation Authority
and the Ministry of Natral
Resources have agreed to lend their
expertise to the conunittee.
The purpose of this committee is
to:
-Evaluate dicey alternatives
available for our lower park land.
