Madill Secondary School in Wmgham. When I was in Grade 11, I decided to apply to the co-opera- tive education program offered at the high school. My flame is Heidi Robertson and my placement is at the Wingham And District Hospital. I started at the end of September and worked on first floor with the long-term patients. I helped to serve breakfast and helped to feed the patients when needed. After breakfast I made beds which was a challenge in itself. The hardest part was to learn how to make the perfect corner. I also 4haved some of the men's faces with an electric razor, have learned that nursing in- ,. *elves not ordrialdrig caretf peo- le, but a kd of paper work. 1 even nwd how to tranifer information J." -•,• •.• • " • ° ' from one flow chart to another. I worked on first floor until two weeks ago when I was moved up to, the second floor. The jobs I do now - are pretty much the same as on first floor. • Nursing, I think, is being able to cope with a wide variety of people, young and old. I like to help out and learn new things, so I am gen- erally kept busy. Right now there are many people enrolled in the co-op education pro - grain, placed in a variety jobs. I would recommend coop to gl students.
