crowd when he split the defence only'
to have his shot bounce off the
goalpest.

Brown passed the puck out front and
Thynne made no mistpke as he
slammed the rubber past the
startled Durham goaltender.
At this point, Patterson made a
solid save when aDurham winger
came in on a breakaway on the

blistering slapshot that eluded the
Wingham goalteuder.
Wingham's fifth goal was a pretty
one, scored when'Thynne't rebound
came to Brown who shovelled the
puck over a sprawling. Durham
goalie. McPherson also assisted on
the play.
PeeWee Points: This was one of
the team's best efforts to date this
year. The players skated both ways
and bumped the Durham defenders
off the puck at every opportunity.
The defence crew of Crawford,
Daw, MacKay, Harrison and
Nelemans played a strong game
protecting Patterson in net.

The F. E. Madill Nordic Ski Team
had the opportunity to compete
against the best skiers from 109 high
schools across the province
recently.
The Junior girls' team finished a
very respectable 14th after the
individual races, the Junior boys
were 15th and Senior girls -were 19th.
Madill's Junior combined team
was in 10th position after the first
day. However, misfortune .plagued
the relay teams on the second day.
The officials were particularly rigid
and many teams ended up -dis-
qualified for starting out of the non
skate zone after they finished
racingrincluding Madill.
It was extremejy disappointing as
everyone had given 110 per cent out
on the course. HoWever, they are

of competing* OFSAA and look for

reason, the series was changed to a
best -of -three.
