FROZEN TO DEATH
Blustery winter weather resulted
in a tragedy in January of 1904. A.
W. Maybury; a highly respected
farmer, who lived about five miles
Southwest of Listowel, started for
home with a load of chop. The roads
were so heavy he abandoned his
horses and went forward on foot in a
blinding snowstorm. He was found
dead in a field the next evening, a
mile from home. He was 32 years
old.
