Scoring for Wingham were Jer-
emy Brown with the hat trick and
Peter Shaw with two. Assists on the
goals went to Terry Thynne, Stephen
Anger, Danny McPherson, Jamie
MacKay and Jason Kleist. -
A rare penalty shot was awarded
to Wingham in the third period when
a Walkerton defenceman covered
the puck in the crease, but Shaw was
foiled in his attempt to tuck the puck
around the goalie.
Three players were missing from
the Wingham lineup and the team is
looking forward to their return.
Walkerton 4, Wingham 2
In the second .game of this home -
and -home series, Walkerton played
an aggressive, tight -checking style
of hockey which effectively shut
down the Wingham offence.
The Great China House PeeWees
were behind 4-0 in this game before
they got on the scoreboard.
Wingham's first goal came when
the Walkerton goalie made a good
save on Anger's shot, but the
rebound came over to Thynne who
poked it home. Brown also assisted
on the play.
The second Wingham goal came
as the result of some fine hustling by
Shawn Geficke who skated down the
ice, pulled the goalie out of position
and tucked the puck into the
Walkerton net.
Wingham played inspired hockey
in the third, period to make the game
an interesting -contest.
TO RAVE LIBRARY
Residents of Whitechurch and
community were pleased to hear the
news in January of that there
would soon be a library in the
village. A group of rnen interested in
the project decided to work in with
the Huron County Library Co -Oper-
ative in this connection. It would
supply 100 books each year for three
years and the books would be care-
fully chosen.
