The Daisies continue to lead the
league with 66 points, followed by
the Violets, 48, the Mums, 46, the
Asters, 40, the Roses, 36 and the
Parties, 34.
.Stephanie Cleghorn rolled the high
single of 122 for the girls and the high
double of 230, while Mike Blackwell
had the boys' high Single of 142 and
the high double of 273. •

The Peaches lead the league with
68 points, followed by the Plums, 58,

Evie Matz had the girls' high

WORST FLOOD IN IRISTORY
In late March of 1948, Wingham
was gradually getting back to,
normal after the raging waters of
the Maitland River produced the
worst flood in the history -of
Wingham. Total damage was
estimated at over half a million
dollars. Railways were hatd hit and
Howson's Mill damaged, ResidentS
of Lower Wingham had weathered
many a flood but nothing like that.
About 20 families had to be
evacuated.
