The presentation was by Mrs. Walker of Grand Bend. It included violin, piano and vocal arrangements and a "magic basket of tricks". This Friday, Feb. 10, all Grade 1 children will be going to the Wawanosh Nature Centre for a "Snow Walk, Snow Talk" adventure. At gym time, we are improving our fitness using the equipment. — Miss McCaughan Miss Sanderson's Grade 2 class was visited by two pet rats. Last week Amanda Bates brought in her rats to the school, Their names are Leta and Duvil, they are three weeks old and like to play on the wheel. They also like to nibble at our fingers when the class is feeding them nuts. Amanda cleans their pen once a week. The rats' colors are beige and w.hite. We decided to call the rats from the classroom to the hall and they could hear us! The rats can grow to 34 centimetres. The food is gerbil food. — Claude LaBrie The Grade 2-3 classes have been weaving, weaving, weaving! They have picture weaving and Valentine weaving., They made looms from styrofoam trays and made doll scarves, bracelets and coasters. — S. Alcock and M. Sanderson Last Monday and Tuesday the Kindergarten children went to the Wawanosh Nature Centre. We followed the tracks of deer and saw some rabbit tracks in the snow. We alio counted many groundhog holes and decided that the groun- dhog was hibernating for the winter. Josh had a chickadee land on his hand and many of us observed crows and a woodpecker. Mr. IVIalthall came to our school to explain about energy.- - Amy and Grate Grade 5-6's doves laid tiATO, egg's this week. We are anxiously awaiting them to hatch. We also have a pair of lizards in our classroom now: Recently our gerbils gave birth. Our speeches are ongoing. — Mr. Harrison Everybody has finished their speeches in Grade 6. Some were funny, some were sad. Mrs. Graham came in last week. She taught us how to draw figures and faces. We have finished our geography test and are working on science fair for April. — Darren Roth Mr. Raynard's Grade 8 class has finished writing its speeches and now is presenting them. They recently had a math quiz on area and perimeter and have finished "The Bartlett Saga" on the ICON computers. Jeff King went to an art enrichment class at Turnberry Central last Tuesday_ to Thursday. The students took. their reading buddies from Mrs. Kerr's class skating last Tuesday_ from 2:30 to 3:30 -in the afternoon. They are going to the East Wawanosh Recreational Centre on Monday, Feb. 13, as part of their science studies. In art they have te parr weaving and cloud formation.
