PRIMARY REPORT

Grade 1 students. in Miss
McCaughan's class enjoyed an
excellent musical presentation last
week. The presentation was by Mrs.
Walker of Grand Bend.
It included violin, piano and vocal
arrangements and a "magic basket
of tricks".
This Friday, Feb. 10, all Grade 1
children will be going to the
Wawanosh Nature Centre for a
"Snow Walk, Snow Talk" adventure.
At gym time, we are improving
our fitness using the equipment.
— Miss McCaughan
Miss Sanderson's Grade 2 class
was visited by two pet rats. Last
week Amanda Bates brought in her
rats to the school, Their names are
Leta and Duvil, they are three weeks
old and like to play on the wheel.
They also like to nibble at our
fingers when the class is feeding
them nuts. Amanda cleans their pen
once a week. The rats' colors are
beige and w.hite.
We decided to call the rats from
the classroom to the hall and they
could hear us! The rats can grow to
34 centimetres. The food is gerbil
food.
— Claude LaBrie
The Grade 2-3 classes have been
weaving, weaving, weaving! They
have picture weaving and Valentine
weaving., They made looms from
styrofoam trays and made doll
scarves, bracelets and coasters.
— S. Alcock and M. Sanderson
Last Monday and Tuesday the
Kindergarten children went to the
Wawanosh Nature Centre. We
followed the tracks of deer and saw
some rabbit tracks in the snow.
We alio counted many groundhog
holes and decided that the groun-
dhog was hibernating for the winter.
Josh had a chickadee land on his
hand and many of us observed crows
and a woodpecker. The children
agreed that they would like to return
to the nature centre.
