The AWANA grand prix is a spe- cial event for the 50 members of the club who meet every Wednesay at the Gorrie Community Hall. Mem- bers are pre -Kindergarten age to Grade 8. The group is divided into five levels, Cubbies (co-ed), ages 3 and 4; Sparks (co-ed) Kindergarten to Grades 1 and 2; NIS' -(ixoys.)' Aki Chums (girls), Grades 3 i!n4)01 Pioneers (boys) and Guards(girls), Grades 5 and 6 and Junior Varsity (co-ed), Grades 7 anal). A typical club meeting, for all.. groups consists of " three train seg- ments: eg-ments: an active game- time geared to each level, a handbook achieve- ment and a full group council time. Knox congregation records good year BELGRAVE — A successful year was recorded by organizations of Knox United Church at the annual meeting, held Jan. 29 after the - morning service, with a large attendance. Rev, John G. Roberts opened the meeting with prayer and the appointed secretary, Murray Scott, read the minutes of the last annual meeting. Lewis Stonehouse, the treasurer, presented the financial statement for i, .Y and reported a very success- ful year in the general fund and Mission and Service. He expressed, thanks to the members for their support. The auditors' report was given by Lorne Campbell who stated all books are in order and thanked Mr. Stonehouse for his excellent work. Mr. Campbell and George Procter were re-elected auditors for another year. Mrs. Gordon Bosnian presented the 1989 budget and the Mission and Service Fund target was set. The meeting instructed the secretary to write to Wayne hopper, thanking to retire in 1991, are Paul Cook, John McIntosh and Mike Cottrill. Leklie 'Vincent was elected as trustee to retire in 1992. Mrs. Glenn Coultes was renamed to the Christian edu- cation committee, to retire in 1990. Carol Hopper, Dianne Black, Sharon Kellar, Ben Barnes, Mark Coulter, Jeff and David McKee were appointed additional offe stewards and ushers.
