Former resident of area
dies in Kitchener at 90
A. former resident of Wingham and
Wroxeter, James Alvin Moffat, died
Saturday, Jan. 21, at Sunnyside
Home, Kitchener, in his 91st year.
Mr. Moffat was for many years
operator of a hardware business in
the village of Wroxeter. Following
his retirement, he and his wife
resided on Wingham's Patrick
Street.
Alvin Moffat was the beloved
husband of the former Catherine
Cathcrs; loving father of Margaret
and Graham Work of Brussels;
Calvin and Norma Moffat of Milton;
Jeanne and George Seegmiller of
Waterloo; Marjorie and Milo
of two sisters and one brother; loved
grandfather of 16 grandchildren and
15 great-grandchildren. Be was pre-
deceased by two infant daughters at
birth.
Visitation took place Monday
afternoon and evening and this
morning (Tuesday) from 10:30 until
noon at the Gorrie Chapel -of Watts
Funeral Homes. Removal will then
be made to Gorrie United Church for
service at two o'clock. Spring
interment will take place in Gorrie
Cemetery. \,

Mrs. J. Ste. Marie dies
in Turnberry Township
There passed away in Turnberry
Township on Sunday, Jan. 15,
Margaret Jean Ste. Marie, wife of
the late George Ste. Marie of Clif-
ford.
Born in Turnberry Township on
Dec. 31, 1912, she was the daughter
of the late William Elliott and
Alberta Hastie. Jean attended
Wroxeter Continuation School and
during her married life lived in
Clifford. Due to a long illaess, she
had, resided at the family home in
Turnberry where she was lovingly
cared for by her family.
She is survived by tWo sons. Bill ef
St. Catharines and Andy of Turn -
berry Township; two grandchildren,
Kevin of Clifford and Shelley of Port
Elgin. She will be sadly missed by
her sister, Mrs. Andy (Doris)
Adams.
Friends paid their respects at the
Gorrie Chapel of Watts Funeral
Homes until Wednesday when
complete funeral service was
conducted by Rev. Don Pugh and
pastor Jeff Hawkins. Final resting
place will be Wroxeter Cemetery.

Grove Cemetery, Fordwich.

HUNT — Passed away at Grace
Villa, London, on Sunday, Jan. 22,
Mrs: Helen Viola Hunt of London, in
her 76th year. The former Helen
McGee, she was the beloved wife of
the late Basil Davidson and the late
Arthur Hunt; dear sister of George
and Jessie McGee, RR 3, Wingham;
aunt of Linda and Ralph Logan of
Wyoming, Marian Strauss of Water-
loo; Marlene and Don Procter, RR 4,
Brussels, Jim and Chris McGee, RR
3, Wingham. She was predeceased
by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leask
McGee and her brother, James
Taylor McGee. Complete funeral
service is being held today (Tues-
day) at two o'clock at The Mc-
Burney Funeral Home, Wingham,
Rev. John G. Roberts officiating.
Final resting place will be Wingham
Cemetery. Memorial donations to
the Heart and Stroke Foundation of
Ontario would be appreciated as ex-
