Wingham Legion's PeeWee Lads
topped Palmerston 5-3 in exhibition
- hockey Jan. 2, their first game in
1989, and the -second exhibition
victory over Palmerston in just a
week.
Murray McLeod had a good game,
sewing two goals. Jason Zvans
received a 10.minute misconduct
penalty midway through the second
period, and sat out the •imst of the
game.
The Lads outshot their opponents
25 to 14, playing the first two periods
well, but getting a bit sloppy in the
third frame and allowing Palmeri
sten to come within one goal of the
leading team. Palmerston was
unable to catch the Lads in spite of
pulling their oval goalie in the dying
moments of the third period in an
effort to score an equalizer.
Murray McLeod put Wingham en
the board in the first period, from
Gordon Welch. In the second, it was
Johnathan - Lane unassisted en a
Wingham power play, making the
score 2-0, followed by another score
by Johnathan Balzer from Lane and
Welch. In the third period came
