READY FOR RALLY Executive Director Jean Young of Town and
Country Homemakers and employee Rose Ohm prepared several
placards for yesterday's march on Queen's Park to protest lack of
proper funding ir, the province's visiting homemaker programs.
About 50 supporters from Huron County went by bus from Wingham
yesterday morning to join the afternoon rally in front of the provincial
legislature.

Huron County Waste Management Master Plan
NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
The Waste Management Master Plan
Stage 1 Preliminary Report (Data Collection)
has been completed. Public meetings to discuss this Report
have been scheduled for:
Thursday, Jan. 19, 1989 - Blyth Memorial Hall -7:30 J7:30 PM
Monday, Jan. 30, 1989 - Hensali Arena - 7:30 PM
Copies of the Stage 1 Preliminary Report are available for loan,
at all Town and Village Branch Libraries, or may be obtained by
contacting the Huron County Department of Planning and Development.
A short newsletter which summarizes the key findings
of the Report is also available.

Harold Parsons of Woodingford
Lodge, Woodstock, passed away
Friday, Dec. 30, in his 90th year. He
was a station agent in Fordwich: for
some years and is, survived by two
daughters, Margaret Parsons: of
Kitchener, and Mrs. Willoughby
(Verna) Patterson of Burlington.
His wife, Rose, predeceased him in
11971 and one daughter, Vera
Cleland, in 1974.

home on the weekend after spending

Pot-Iuck'dinner
begins new year
FORDWICH--The senior citizens
welcomed the new year with a
bountiful pot -luck dinner. The
meeting opened with season's
greetings, "0 Canada" and birthday
wishes to two members. A letter on
waste control was read, as well as
other correspondence.
As this closed the books for 1988,
Mrs. George Richards installed the
slate of officers for 1 9. Roll call for
the new year was answered by
payment of membership dues.
Members were reminded of the card
party Fri 10tat?' ai at .8;_30, : W o
the next meeting, Feb. 1, with a pot-
luck meal at 12:30.
The program opened with the
singing of a hymn and the Lord's
Prayer. Mrs. Cooper gave a
meditation on "Thoughts for the
New Year". Mrs. Florence Wilson
gave a reading on "What Is a Senior
Citizen?", followed by a reading by
Mrs. Cooper. Mrs. Lorne Kelley
conducted a spelling bee.
The remainder of the afternoon
was spent playing euchre and Lost
Heir, bringing an enjoyable
