After hearing 'a presentation by
Huron County Clerk -Administrator
Bill Hanly, Wingham Towne Council -
has decided to pass a bylaw
establishing a county 'emergency
rescue and support service.
Mr, Hanly appeared at the regular
January meeting of town council to
answer some questions concerning
the wording of .the bylaw and an
accompanying agreemenl.
Council's reservation centred
mostly on the word "donate" used in
the agreement to explain how
certain equipment purchases will be
turned back to the county rescue
support system — a joint venture of
the Exeter, Clinton and Wingham
area fire departments.
Mr. Hanly told council the bylaw

Councillor Ron Beecroft, who also
is 1 9 chairman of <-the Wingham
Area Fire Beard told Mr. Hanly that
the town's insurance Carrier . had
pointed out that the wording could
create confusion inthe event of an
insurance claim,
However, Mr. Hanly stated that
the county has no authority to bear
costsof localfire departments and
that the equipment belongs to the
Huron Rescue Support System
"which is the three area fire
departments'.
With that assurance, council
approved Mr, Hanly's request to
