Jack Arnold of Mildmay . and Frank Elliott, Staffs,• were second with seven wins .and a plus of 65, while Ivan Gardner, Wingham and Grand, ,Wall, C obourg, were third - with sial wins and a plus of 05. In fourth place were Leon Russell, Wingham and Harold Carter, Goderich, four wins and a plus of 124, Bob Donaldson of London and Fred Wickens, Kitchener, were fifth with four wins and a plus of 94, Alex Boa, Goderich and Glen Scherbarth, Mitchell, rounded out the scoring on the 'A' .side with two wins and a plus of 170. Double -round games also were played in the 'B' division(0 points in the first round and 30 in the second. Howick Midgets defeat Wingham in holiday game Howick's lone game during the Christmas break was against Wing - ham Midgets at the Howick Commu- nity Centre on Wednesday, Dec. 28. The boys showed no signs of eating too much Christmas turkey as they were in high gear for 45 minutes of good play. They skated to a well -de- rved 5-3 win. Wingham scor ' two late first pe- riod goals to take a 2-1 lead, Wingham goals were scored by Jeff McKee and Dean Whitfield. Hlowick's one marker was scored on the power play. Craig King finished off a neat passing play with J,aret Henhoefferr' and Todd Templeman when he beat Billy McGrath, the Wingham goalie, at close range. Donald Livermore's slapshot from just over the blueline proved to be the only goal of the second period. Steve MacGregor assisted on Livermore's tally. The score at the Howick dominated play in the third period by scoring three con- secutive goals in the first seven min- utes of play. Steve MacGregor took a perfect pass from Jason Corriere on a two -on -one situation to deke Mc- Grath out of position. Rod Mann scored the first one on a low slapshot from the point. Jason Jacobson drew an assist. A solo dash by Jacobsen from one end to the other finished off the How - ick scoring. Peter Stewart, the How - „goalie, was.greditaLwith, ow- µgoalie..was..ereslitedJ.wlth, an..as ;.,. sist on the goal. Steve Michie beat Stewart on a long slapshot from outside the blue - line to round out the scoring. The final score was 5-3 for Howick. RON'S ROUNDUP The line of Donald Livermore, Steven MacGregor and Jason Car- riere played one of their best games this season. The line was on the ice for four of the five Howick goals and also played well defensively. Howick went with three defense - men, Jacobson, King and Mann. The three must enjoy the extra work as each of them turned offen- sive -minded and scored a goal.
