Horseshoe players turn .Out
for tourney on �a snowy day
There was a good turnout of
horseshoe players to last Saturday's
tournament at the Wingham
Sportsmen's Club.
Two categories of players enjoyed
double -round 50 and 30 -point games.
Grant Wall of Cobourg and Jack
Arnold, Mildmay, were first on the
'A' side with four wins and a plus of
81, while Alex Boa of Goderich and
Harold Pridham, Staffa, were
second with four wins and a plus of
70.
Harold Carter of Goderich and
Lloyd Neeb, Kitchener, were third
with two wins and a plus of 143. Syd
Lawson of Goderich and Mery
Lichty of Waterloo were fourth with
two wins and a plus of 134.
On the `13' side, Ivan Gardner of
Wingham and Jim Cronin of Walker-
ton were first with six wins and a
plus of 101. Frank Elliott of Staffa
and Sandra Rivett of Dungannon
were second, six wins- and a plus of
81, while Eugene Kuntz of Walkerton
and Lorne Hamilton, Wingham,
were third with six wins and a plus.of
71.
In fourth place wire Dean Elliott
of Staffa and Lorne Kuntz, Chep-
stow, five wins and a plus of 106.

as Jay Leitch made an end-to-end
rush following a stop and set-up by
goaltender Joel Leitch. -
Andrew Laing fired his first of
five, unassisted, to up .the margin to

A student at the F. E. Madill
Secondary School, ..foe is the
son of Ray andShirley Walker,
both of Wingham. - His sweater,
sporting the number eight is

right-winger is 17 years of age,
`stands Six feet, one inch tall and
weighs 168 pounds. This is his
second year with the Ironman.

A native of Palmerston, Richard
