CANADETTE PARENTS' NIGHT — Members of the Wingham Canadettes Majorette and Flag Corps
were in fine form last week, strutting and twirling at a pre -Christmas show for thefr parents.

FORDWICH — The general meet-
ing of the United Church Women was
held at the church on Dec. 1.
President Mrs. Jack Mann opened
the meeting with a reading, "The

and the treasurer's report was given
by Miss Minnie McElwain.
Correspondence was read by _Mrs.
Gibson.
The worship service was
presented by Mrs., Eimer. Harding
and Mrs. Joe whiket.mrit: Raiding
opened the service with a reading on
the Advent theme, the preparation
for the coming of Christ. Mrs.
Winkel read scripture from Isaiah
and St. Luke's Gospel, followed by a
Christmas hymn. The service closed
with prayer by Mrs. Winkel.
Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Grainger of
Montreal spent the weekend with
Mrs. Cecil Grainger.
The "Harmony Hi-Lites" held
their annual Christmas cabaret at
Seaforth Community Arena on
Saturday, Dec. 3. Gorrie members,
Jackie Gowdy and Nadine Cathers,
took part in the concert which had
the theme, "Let's Have an Old -
Fashioned Christmas".
June and Tom MacEwen and
family held OpenHouse on Sunday
on the occasion of Mrs. Gladys
Felker's115th birthday. Among those
attending from a distance were Barb
and Don Mellroy and family, Clair
and Terry Wisdorti, all of Kitchener,
Ken and Margie Felker and family,
Morrisburg, Norma and Jack Ruhl
and family, Burlington.

91% believe delivery to be as convenient or more convenient than
before.
The message comes across loud and clear: an overwhelming
majority of Rural Canadians surveyed believe that the post office is
moving in the right direction. Furthermore, they consider that
enlisting the help of local businesses heipsto provide better
services.
Beginning January 3, 1989, customers who depend on lockboxes
as their primary means of delivery will no longer have to pay a
lockbox service fee. Charges wiN cease to apply for these customers
when their lockboxes come uplor renewal.
