sor, and Mr. Cecil Johnston, of Es-
sex, ; motored up and spent Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Gardiner.
Mrs. Gardiner returned with them
on a visit
Mr. Richard Coates, of Usborne,
had a very successful auction sale
of farm stock and implements on
Wednesday 'of last week. His 200
acre farm was offered for sale but
was not sold.

Toronto the first week in November'
to celebrate the 100th Anniversary
of the founding of the Methodist
Missionary Societyin Canada.

Messrs. Luther and Edwin Braund
of Brantford, motored up last week
and visited their mother, Mrs. D.
Braund. While hear they picked
her apples and pears and she has
some Spy apples and winter pears
for sale.
Rev. W. E. Donnelly was in Kit-
chener on Tuesday where he deliv-
ered an address at the Provincial
Convention of the Ontario Religious
Education Council. He also gave
one of his peoppular lectures at Shak-
espeare, Tuesday evening.
Miss Vera Coates, who has been

Mrs. Cobbledick, widow of the
late Rev, Geo. H. Cobblediick, a for-
mer Brussels woman was drowned
near Edmonton recently. She was

was killed in a Street car accident

On Tuesday evening -of last week
the young people of Main St. Meth-
odist church gathered at -the home
of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Ford and spent
a very pleasant evening during the
course -of which they presented Miss
Edna Follick, bride -elect,: with,,, a
handsome linen table cover and
napkins, also an address expressive
of their appreciation of her work in
the church. Refreshments followed.
