United Church Women, held
Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the home of Mrs.
Gertrude Durnin. Mrs. Agnes
Farrier read a poem, "In Flanders
Fields" and hymns were sung
throughout the meeting. Mrs. Alice
More read scripture from Genesis.
Mrs. Farrier read about the op-
pression and hardship of black
women in South Africa. Mrs. Hazel
Laidlaw and Mrs. Margaret
Sleightholm told about three black
women and their difficulty under
government rules. Mrs. Farrier .

brunch. In the afternoon they were

Scheeringa and Meagan of Bramp-

Morris intends to designate the property, . including lands and build-
ings, at the following municipal address as a property of architectural
and historical value or interest under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage
Act, 1974, S.O. Chapter 122.
(a) 13 Queen's Street, in the Hamlet of Belgrave, Township of Morris,
County of Huron, in the Province of Ontario.

Queen's Hotel, Boigrave Ontario.
The Queen's Hotel in t(e.,Hari let of Belgrave, Located in the Town-
ship of Mordk built in the .late 1800's is a landmark hotel of the area.
It was named the 'Queen's Hotel in Yesteryears and its name still
remains imprinted in the bricks., •
The Queen's Hotel is recommended for designation for architectu-
ral reasons, as it is an example of rural public design, skillfully using
local material and. craftmanship. Historically, the Queen's Hotel
served as a stopping place for travellers . in the 1800s and early
1900s, while travelling through the area.
The hotel is located approximately six miles north of the Village of
Blyth, where the Blyth Festival Theatre is located. This hotel could be
a complement to. the Blyth Theatre as an accommodation for
travellers.
Any person may. within thirty days of the first publication of this
notice, send by registered mail or deliver to the Clerk of the Township
of Morris notice of his or her objection to the proposed designation
together with a statement of the reasons for the objection rand all
relevant facts. If such a Notice of Objection is received, the Council of
the Corporation of the Township of Morris shall refer the matter to the
Conservation Review Board for a hearing.
