Mr, and Mrs. Everett Felker of Seaforth attended the open house last Wednesday at the group's office on Victoria Street in Wingham and are shown some letters from satisfied clients by Sally Lawton. Howick wothn is named new presi -ent of JWI Fourteenmembers of_the Howick Junior Women's Institute attended the annual conference of the Ju `or Women's Institutes of Ontario in St. Catharines recently. Those attending from the Howick branch were, ,Marg Greig, Kate Tervit, Ronna Lee Johnson, Winnie Winkel, Darlene Harding, Myrna Penney, Leone Foerter, Henrietta Claus, Carole Hohenadel, Connie Fenton,' 'Helen Smith, Brenda Bunker, Elly Emmerton and Mary Hall. Members - enjoyed a get - acquainted eveningon the Friday night, organized by the host Niagara branch. Registration took place the next morning, followed by the annual. meeting. Mrs. Peggy Knapp, pcesident-elect of the Federated Women's Institutes of Ontario, brought greetings. During the meeting, JWIO President Carol • Hyde asked the members a variety of questions on agriculture in the classroom. For example, did you know , that you can fill 225 apple pies from a standard apple tree ' and that the '-'miost., popular meat in the world lamb? Pennies for Friendship were collected from each branch. with a total of $658 being raised. Enough money will be taken from : the provincial funds to send a total of $1,000 to ACWW, Mrs. Foerter gave an informative reporton ACWW and what it represents. " Each branch made a presentation. on the past year's theme of "All Our Children", explaining what mem- bers had done to promote this . theme.
