Archana Fawcett of Listowel, a
representative of "Creative Kids",
was the guest speaker at the recent
October meeting of the Howick
Junior Women's Institute at the
Howick Central School.
She displayed the line of toys,
books and activity kits she has
available- and allowed members
time to examine them. Ms. Fawcett
stressed that toys should be non-
toxic, durable, safe to play with and
promote the child's imagination and
creativity.

Ratepayer's Meeting
A meeting will be held on Tuesday evening
October 25, 1988 at 8:00 p.m.
at the Township of Morris Municipal Office, to provide
the ratepayers of the Township of Morris an opportunity
Ito 'Meet the Council for the upcoming term of office and
meet the representatives for the area on the local
Boards of Education.

Leone Foerter reported on the
Initiate -Educate conference she
attended in Kings -ton -on waste
manageMent. She reported that
each'personsenerates 2.2 pounds of
garbage each year and we ail must
follow the "4 Rs" reduce, reuse,
recylce and recover — of waste
management.
Mrs. Fenton congratulated Mrs.
Emmerton and Kate Tervit, who set
up the fall fair exhibit to illustrate
, the acing"Grandma's Feather Bed",
which Wen first prize.
Members were reminded of the
safety workshop to be held Nov. 5 in
Wroxeter and the Hallowe'en dance
to be held Oct. 28 from 8 p.m. to 12
midnight in the Howick Community
Centre. Everyone is welcometo
attend these events.

The November meeting will feature
a Christmas craft and a "Bring and
