Certification granted for union to organize at plant The United Brotherhood of Car- penters and Joiners, Local 3054, has received certification to organize at the Royal Homes production plant in Whigham. Certification was granted at an Ontario Labor Board hearing last Friday in Toronto. The union had sufficient signatures from produc- tion employees tokapply for certifica- tion. Doug renibn, a spokesman for Royal Homes, told The Advance - Times .Monday morning that the company has accepted the fact that the 155 production workers wanted to, organize. Now, management must await notification from the union that it is prepared to sit down aurimegotiateacontract. When contacted- Monday morn* g; Adam Salvona of Exeter, union business agent, said the local is awaiting an official certificate from the Labor Board before contacting Royal Homes' management. In a negotiated agreement, Mr. Salvona said the union is concerned about job security, seniority, and WF president accepts ACMA's Grede Award The American Cast Metals Association's distinguished Wm. J. Grede Award has been presented to Richard W. LeVan, president of Western Foundry Company. Limited.
