Basic Bracy
program begins
next Wednesday
A program to teach adults edsic
literacy skills will be held once again
in Wingham beginning Oct. 12,1'
The eight -lesson adult basic'
literacy program is designed
specifically for adults who want to
learn to read and write. Each will
work on a one-on-one basis with. a
volunteer tutor in the° series of eight
two-hour sessions to be held weekly
at the Wingham United Church.
There is no charge to the student.
Each lesson has two parts -- the
tutor -student guide and the student
book and there is an audiocasette
tape for' each part. The tutor -student
guide . and tape provide an
introduction to each lesson, as well
as suggesting ways for the student
and tutor to work together on the
lesson.
The student book and tape provide
the reading material and exercises
for the student.
A course will also be available for
those adults who want to improve
their reading and writing skills.
