Wiarton Bantams squeeze
past Wingham 6-5 in finals
The Wingham 'Bantam boys
hosted Wiarton in the final game of
their WOAA semi-finals Sunday
night. Wingham forced the final
game by drubbing Wiarton 8-2 last
Tuesday night, but fell short 6-5 in
the final.
The locals trailed by five on
Sunday, but bounced back to tie the
game in the sixth only to have
Wiarton score the winner in its final
at -bat on two infield hits and some
heads -up base running.
In Tuesday night's game,
Wingham grabbed a five -run lead
after two innings and never looked

back. Steve Bourne led the offence

three runs. Poulin and Kotsanis also
had two hits apiece, with McKee,
MacKay and Jason Bloemberg
adding singles.

was a tough one for the Wingham

battling back from a five -run deficit.
