dance on raft
The stepdancing McMichael
Sisters of Wroxeter had a unique
experience recently when they
danced on a raft in the quarry at
Elora.
The occasion was Elora's Three
Centuries Festival's "Heritage
Music in the Quarry" concert.
Janice Ballagh and her sisters,
Karen, Judith and Rhonda
McMichael, danced several routines
to the accompaniment of the Woods
Family and Friends of Fergus.
The Woods family is comprised of
pianist Carolyn, as well as fiddlers
Kendra, Bruce and Scott. They have
been performing together for over 15
years. Their "friends" are Karl
Watson on the bass guitar, Ivan
Felkar, rhythm guitar and vocals
and Gini Williams, vocals.
Others entertaining were "Catch
44" and a barbershop quartet out of
the Scarborough chapter called
"The Dukes of Harmony".
The entertainers were transported
to and fro on a barge, allowing the
girls to make quick costume chang-
es.
The 90 -minute concert in the
quarry proved to be an enjoyable
afternoon's entertainment ' for the
almost 400 people who viewed it
from the bleachers above.
A double -ring ceremony uniting
Susan Joy Thomas and Timothy
Warren Brewer was performed in.

nized in a lovely floral and candle-
light setting. Mrs. Harold Johnston
was organist.
Parents of the bridal couple are
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Thomas of
Tobermory and Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Brewer of Bluevale.

a long train and matching head-
piece. She carried a pink and white
bouquet, as well as a white Bible.

of Mount Forest, sister-in-law of the
bride. The bridesmaids were
Yvonne Brewer of Bluevale, sister of
the groom and Tracey Watson of
Tobermory, a friend of the bride.
Melissa Rivers of Mount Forest, a
friend of the bride, was flower girl
and young Ryan Harnack of Mill-
bank, the groom's nephew, was
ringbearer.

brother of the bride, performed the
duties of best man. Ushering guests
were Bruce Vincent of Londes-
