101 DRESSED UP — Youngsters were in their Sunday best for
closing ceremonies of the Fordwich. Vacation Bible School in the
United, Church last Thursday night. These members of the nursery
class are, from left: Kathryn Koehler, Candice Keeso, Bradley
Keeso, Laura Nickel, Bobby Heimpel, David Wilson. Teachers for
the nursery class were Rosemary Magill and Mrs. Karen Lepp-
ington.
CHEERING SECTION — The Wingham Pee Wee girls' softball team had a real cheering section at a game
held last week at the Josephine Street park. Eric Deyell, Joanne Crawford, Danny McPherson and Brett
Sangster urged the home team to a 20-19 win over Mitchell. Jenny Remington and Julie McGrath are
hidden.
YOUTH MEET OPENING CEREMONIES — Young Wingham athletes competing at the recent Interna-
tional Youth Meet of Champions in Toronto took part in the opening Ceremonies at the meet, parading In
front of the spectator stand.

Dave Ablett and Andy Adams
were the top horseshoe players last
Thursday evening at the Wingham
Sportsmen's Club with five wins.
Glen Casemore and Eugene Kuntz
were second, four wins and a plus of
27, while Leon Russell and Lorne
Kuntz were third with three wins
and a plus of 23.
Jack Higgins and Jerry Edwards
were fourth, two wins and a plus of
53 and rounding out the scoring were
Mason Robinson and Elmer
McFarlan, one win and a plus of 60.
This Saturday, Aug. 20, there will
be horseshoes at the club in connec-
tion with Sportsfest, primarily for
beginners and whoever wishes to
play. Every player will receive a
prize. The starting time is 1 p.m.,
however, you must register before
then.
