verbal approval from the Ontario
Municipal Board last week that it
may proceed with the reconstruction•
of John Street West.

A Mildmay -based drainage
company, Barry,, Weigel Drainage
Ltd., has been awarded the contract
for the north and south branches of
the Blackhall Drain in Morris
Township.
Council accepted the Weigel bid of
$21,797 at the second regular July
meeting last week, Contractors had
bid on concrete and concrete -plastic
drainage options. The Weigel bid
was the lowest of a number received
and is for the plastic tile.

Maitland Engineering in Wingham
attended the opeh1ng of the tenders.
The drain is in the northwest corner
seek OMB approval for any long-
term
ongterm borrowing over its term, which
ends this fall. Council intends to
borrow $240,900 for the $483,000
project.
A breakdown of the project in -
awarded

dicates that; $214,000 is to be spent on
roadwork; $90,000 on storm sewers;
$78,000 on sanitary sewers and
$93,000 on water lines.
In addition to, the $240,900
borrowed by the town, funding:: willbe' provided by ' the Ontario Ministry
of Transportation, $99,600; the
