PRIMARY
The Grade is had a picnic and
went swimming with their penpals
from the Wingham Public School.
They also had a treasure hunt. They
finished reading the rest of Fan-
tastic Mr. Fox.
On June 21, they had gym class
with Mr. Sinammon since Ms.
Arbuckle was at the two -pitch
tournament.
The Grade 2s watched a movie
about insects after which they had to
pick an insect and write about it.
They are reading a story called
"Munch, Munch and Molly and the
Giant".
It is getting close to the end of the
year and everyone is busily cleaning
the classroom and cleaning,. out their
desks. I hope everyone Ny a safe
and happy summer holiday!

JUNIOR
School's really out now! The
Grade 8 banquet is over and the
summer holidays are on! Next those
kiddies will have moved up a grade.
They've finished their math and
spelling units. All classes enjoyed
their Swimming — courtesy, of the

INTERMEDIATE
The Grade 7s performed a skit
entitled "The Shooting of Dan
McGrew" at the Grade 8 banquet.
They also decorated the gym for it.
Last Tuesday, the two -pitch
tournament was held at Turnberry.
Everyone who came had an ex-
cellent time. We would like to thank
all those who participated in the
tournament for making it such a
success. We look forward to seeing
most of you here again next year!

EXTRA -CURRICULAR
Last week the students of. Tur-
nberry Central went to the Wingham
pool for an hour-long swim. The
Grade 6-7 students also made
decorations for the Grade 8 banquet.

SPORTS
The two -pitch tournament that
was held at Turnberry last Tuesday
was a lot of fun. Everybody had a
good time playing against each
other. Everyone is enjoying
swimming at the Wingham pool and
we all were, looking forward to the
last day of school.

The Kindergarten children were
very excited about their graduation
last Thursday.
We wish them all the best in their
future years at East Wawanosh.

Grade 3
The Grade 3s have spent the last
few weeks doing a farm study. One
of the activities was building model
farms in groups. Six different
centres were available to the
students, who worked through them
on their own.
On June 17, the Grade 3s, along
with the Grade 2 pupils, enjoyed a
trip to Doon Heritage Crossroads
where life is as it was in 1914.
Grade 3-4
Since the beginning of the third
term, we worked on books with our
buddies. We were so successful that
we even held a Young Author's Day.
The parents of our Grade 1 buddies
read the books to the parents. It was
a good sharing experience. We
served our guests cookies that we
and our buddies had made.
Throughout the . school 'year;
parent volunteers have been helping
the Grade 3-4s. Mrs. Krieger has
been . coming in every Tuesdayto
type and staple books for us. She
also had been helping with our
mathematics and proofreading our
stories.. Thanks,Mrs. Krieger.
We also would like to thank Mrs.
Jamieson, Mrs. Jardin and Mrs. Bu-
chanan for helping out in the
classroom.

Grade 4-5
The Grade 4-5s went on a bus trip
to Doon Heritage Crossroad. We saw
some slides and explored a museum.
We got to go to an old school house.
On the way home, we stopped, to eat.
Our bus trip was certainly exciting
and educational.

Grade 6-7
At 7 a.m. on June 1, the Grade 6-7
class from East Wawanosh headed
out on its trip to Toronto: Our first
stop was at the science centre, which
was a "hands-on"experience. From
there we headed to Black Creek
Pioneer Village and studied the way
pioneers lived.
Then we checked in at a university
for the night and after supper went
to a,baseball game. After the -game
we headed back to the dormitory.
The next morning, after break-
fast,we- went to the CN Tower and
then to the Eaton Centre for lunch
and shopping.
Following this we went to Ontario
Place for an afternioon of fun. Then
we went to the Mounties' horses
stables. Thank you, Mr. Harrison,
for a very enjoyable trip.

Grade 7-8
The a Grade 7-8s had a very exciting
bus trip recently. We traveled to
Penetanguishene . and Midland on
the first dayy and stayed overnight in
Collingwood. On the second day we
toured around Coiingwood, going to
Blue Mountain and T)he Candy
Factory. We then returned to the
school where the parents picked us
up.
Last Thursday, the Grade 8
banquet was held. We wish everyone
luck next year in high school.

The staff and students give a great

volunteered at the school this year.
We are grateful for the time they
gave to the students and for making
learning an enjoyable experience.
