explain about
recycling waste
• GQRRIE --- Two members of the
-Women's , Institute spoke about
. waste management when the
monthly meeting of the WI was held
at the home of Mrs. Robert Elsch-
ner. Nine members were present, a -•
small turnout.
Mrs. Robert Gibson spoke on the
Kingston conference which she at-
tended in May, the pet project being
waste manageTent. She talked
about recycling garbage and gave
some ideas of what to do with it:
"burn, bury, recycle or send. on -a
Caribbean cruise!
Mrs.• Cecil Wilsonspoke on
recycling garbage as well and'
_showed the ladies how to divide their
garbage into categories: news-
papers, jars, cans, plastic. She said
that glass can be recycled 20 times.

The roll call was very interesting
and answered by all, "How do I con -
'serve?". Many thoughtful answers
were given.
There will be a bus trip to Blyth on
July. 12 to see "The Cookie War".
Members decided to enter the con-
test for the group project at the
Howick Fall Fair. The display is to
be based on a song title. There is to
be a mystery bus trip in September,
more informatitn to be provided
later.
Lunch was served by Mrs. Elsch-
ner and Mrs. William Thornton.
