The market at Brussels Stock-
yards met a strong demand on
choice steers and heifers with good
steers and heifers selling slightly
under pressure. Cows traded $2 to $3
lower and pigs sold steady to higher.
There were 337 cattle and 431 pigs on
offer.
-CHOICE STEERS -$89 to $93 with
sales to $96.25;
GOOD STEERS -$86 to $89;
A Charolais steer consigned by
Maple Emblem Farms of RR 1,
Dungannon, weighing 1,240 pounds,
sold for $96:25 and was purchased by
Norwich Packers. The total offering
of 28 steers averaged 1,233 and sold
for an overall price of $91.29.
Two steers consigned by Joe
Hodgins of RR 8, Parkhill,
averaging 1,200, sold for $95.25, with
his total lot of 41 steers averaging
1,149 and selling for an average
price of $91.74.
Five steers consigned by Stephen
Flynn of RR 1, Clinton, averaging
1,136, sold for an overall price of
$91.39 with sales to $95.25.
•A total of 25 steers, consigned by
Bluemont Farms of RR 1, Bright,
averaging 1,103, sold for an overall
price of $90.27 and they had sales to
$95.50.
Three steers consigned by John
Dorsch of RR 5, Brussels, averaging
1,160, sold for an average price of
$90.59, with sales to $91.25.
A Hereford steer consigned by
Stanley Marshall of RR 3, Durham,
weighing 1,260, sold for $91.
A steer consigned by Gordon
Marshall of RR 3, Durham,
weighing 1,440, sold for $89.25.
A red -white-faced steer consigned
by Jim and Les Stephenson of RR 1,
Ethel, weighing 1,140, sold for$89.

Jerseyville. The total lot of five
heifers, averaging 988, sold for an
overall price of $90.52.

Bennewies of RR 1, Bornholm,
weighing 1,100 pounds, sold for
$90.75, while his total lot of seven
heifers, averaging 1,056, sold for an
average price of $86.20.
Four white heifers consigned by
Wilfred Shortreed of RR 1, Walton,
averaging 908, sold for $88.75.
Eight heifers consigned by Robert
0. Sim of RR 5, Embro, averaging
1,007, sold for an average price of
$82.18 with sales to $88.

LEARNING NEEDS PROGRAM
Having enjoyed great success last
year, a summer school program for
children with challenging learning
needs will be offered again in three
full:SerViee sehools.•
From July 4 to July 29, 36 stpdents
will receive their education for four
hours a day from four teachers
assisted by 11 teacher assistants and
a program supervisor.
The program sites, the ,ViiinghanL
Public School, McCurdy Public
School and Victoria Public School,
will be monitored by Supervisor
Janice Buist and administered by
Frank MacDonald, principal of
summer schools.
The objectives of the program
are:
-to maintain and enhance present
development of academic, life and
social skills;
-to develop expressive and
receptive vocabulary and;
-to provide for recreational ac-
tivities and social experiences.
Pupils will be evaluated by
teachers of the program and parents
will receive a written progress
report upon completion of the
program.
