The Huron County Board of Edu-
cation has unanimously approved a
recommendation to increase its size
by two trustees, returning its
membership to 16.
The action, taken at the board's
regular June session, will bring
board strength back to where it was

government's Bill 30 which extended
funding to separate school boards as

staff ever since, but this latest action
could return the board to what many
consider full strength in a county as
large as Huron.
In making the motion, John

Lightning is being blamed as the
cause of the blaze, says -Mr. Gaunt,
which broke out at approximately 7
p.m. at a farm owned by Howard
Kidman on the east edge of
Wroxeter Howick Township.
A1 -though none of this season's
crop was in the barn at the time, one
cow and calf were lost, along with a
considerable amount of farm
machinery, says Mr. Gaunt.

that the board's executive com-
mittee under the leadership of
Chairman John Jewitt, prepare a
guide relative to trustee distribution
in the county. The guide Would assist
the clerk -treasurers of the yet -to -be -
named municipalities to prepare the
necessary bylaw.
Since the county's former sepa-
rate school trustees represented
north and south parts of the county,
some trustee redistribution will be
necessary to increase the board,size
to 16 from the present 14. The
municipalities represented under
the new legislation won't be known
until up-to-datp, enumeration data
for the countfand trustee distribu-
tion guidelines become available,
likely at the end of July.
The local decision to alter trustee
representation won't take effect
until the Ontario governrner14411125
dealing with the changes cons into
effect, probably by mid-August. The
bill now awaits third and final
reading in the legislature.

Bronze Art Restoration to restore
the patina to the surface of the
state at an estimated cost of $5,900.
Councillor Ward Robertson,
property committee chairman told
council the work is necessary
because the statue had been im-
properly cleaned a few years ago.
• In his report to council, Mr. Mills
pinpointed the problem as one
caused when sandblasting had left
the surface unprotected sub-,
sequent staining of rivulet run
areas. His solution , is, a high-
pressure shot -peening to smooth the
da
ra vezettoit li-
the Sharp* surfaces left by the san-
dblasting and provide a good lustre
to the 'final finish. The prepared
surface will then be hot-patinated to
a dark brown and anti -corrosion
coated.
Mr. Robertson also told council his
committee would still consider of-
fers from citizens who might wish to
spearhead a fund-raising campaign
for this project.
