Gloria Workman, the day centre's assistant director, will become the new director and we currently are in the process of hiring a new assistant director. Hence, the day centre will continue to provide quality social and recreational programs for homebound older adults. This week at the centre we are having games afternoons on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. You are welcome to take the op- portunity to try a game of shuf- fleboard, horseshoes and we'll even provide a few rounds of horse racing! Council formally rescinded its bylaws rezoning a section of the park for the subsidized hou.-sing prOject and accepted an offer by the protesters to help find a suitable alternative site for the apartments. Opponents of the project made their position clear: whether or not an alternative could be found, they did not want the apartments built in the park. ,
