The Wingham Bantam boys had a
busy week, playing three Tri -County
league games, winning two and
losing one.
Last. Tuesday night the local lads
traJ1ed tb.:Walt4n., 4s in their
previous encounter with that team,
this proved to ,be a well -played,
seesaw affair. However, in the end,
Wingham: prevailed11-5.
Tim Currie went the distance on
the mound, allowing eight hits, while
striking out four. Rob MacKay led
the excellent defensive support,
making several good plays at
Singles' tourney
is held at club
A singles horseshoe tournament
was held last Saturday at the
Wingham Sportsmen's Club. Games
of 30 points were played.
Ivan Gardner of Wingham was
first with six wins, while Jack Ward
of Monkton was second with five
wins and a plus of 19. In third place
was Fred Wickens of Kitchener,
three wins and a plus of 47.
Eugene Kuntz of Walkertonwas
fourth, tied with Lorne Hamilton of
Wingham. Both men had two wins
and a plus of 67, requiring an extra
game to decide the positioning.
Leon Russell of Wingham was
sixth with two wins and a plus of 54,
while Andy Adams of Bluevale was
seventh, one win and a plus of 96.

eight hits and striking out five. The
only bright spot for Wingham was
Jason Bloemberg's solo'homerune
The next game is this Thursday
against Belmore at 9 p.m.

The pitchers continue to throw
well with Poulin leading the way at
