Conducting the meeting were Rev. and Mrs. John Neilson and Mrs. PaulineAdams. Mrs. Neilson gave MRs. JEAN ROSS 35743459 J r 4 Mildred McClenaghan and John McKinnon attended the Mc- Clenaghan picnic on Sunday last at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Moss, Plattsville. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Coleman of Vancouver visited last week with her brother, Carl McClenaghan and Mrs. McClenaghan. Also visiting at the same home were Mrs. Jim McIntyre of the Sudbury area. • Mr. and Mrs, Don Ross visited Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. George Ross of Owen Sound where they met Mr. and Mrs. Edward Guppy of Dorset, England, at their motel and spent the evening With them. They are on a conducted bus tour of Canada from Toronto to Vancouver. SEWER COMPLETED In the fall of 1914, the front page of The Wingham Times carried the story that the sewer on Frances Street, between John and Patrick Streets, had been completed. The construction of this sewer was done by day labor and when completed, had cost the town, at the average of 77 cents per foot. This -was con- sidered the cheapest sewer put down in Wingham. • the call to worship and Mrs, Adams. read scripture from the 12th chapter of St. Luke's Gospel- and led in prayer. Mrs. Neilson and Mrs. Adams read an article on"how to be good Christian stewards and Mrs. Neilson then read "Sharing the Journey". A hymn was read as a prayer. Nine answered • the roll call on how to be good stewards. Minutes of the May meeting were read and offering and Least Coin o n r eceived. Business was then dealt with. Mr. Neilson thanked Mrs. Adams for assisting with the meeting. Mrs. Farrier thanked the hostess and Mr. Neilson closed with prayer, "Happy. Birthday" was sung to Mr. Neilson, Grace was sung and everyone enjoyed the birthday tea. NATURE,NUTS The girls have been talking about shelters, weather signs and cam- psite selection. A guest, Eric Cleave from the Wingham Ambulance Service, -talked about first aid and the girls learned about safety out- doors and how to recognize poison ivy. At the May 30th meeting, held at Mrs. Elliott's home, she talked about exploring nature. All mem- bers' participated in the silent symphony and in pieces of the rainbow. Cathy Dow demonstrated the diversity of nature and photography. Mrs. Elliott discussed dangerous species.
