The statement was prepared by Thorne Ernst and -Whinney of London. Mrs. Zinn said the statement con- firmed that Wingham and District Hospital could be considered "in an enviable position compared to other hospitals in the province." While the bottom line shows a 1987- 88 surplus of $194,222, the actual excess of ' revenue over expense amounted to $303,076, the statement shows. However, a $108,854 ap- propriation for capital purposes results in the lower amount. In the fiscal year ending March 31, 1988, the hospital received $7,691,629 M revenue — up $470,978 from the previous year — while expenses totalled $7,388,553 — $475,697 higher than in the fiscal year ending March 31, 1987.
