BRUCE'S NOTES ® The
Wingham boys will 'be .playing
against some tougher competition
this year after going through the
1987 season undefeated in PeeWee9
The local team supports 14 first-year
Bantam players.
It was good to see the bats come to
life against Walton after losing a
tough opener to Monkton. Pitchers
Currie and Poulin look very strong
for the season.

NEW DOGINTOWN=
In summer of 1891, it was reported
that A. fir. Midford had just returned
to Wingham from Cuba, bringing
with him a Russian bloodhound. He
was a powerful- animal, yet gentle
and quiet. He was a great watchdog,
though, and had served well down
among the natives of the island. He
was the terror of the Wingham
canines.
