While she lives near Molesworth,
Mrs. McCreary did point out she
owns property in Turnberry.
Council members thanked Mrs.
McCreary for her presentation. A
brief discussion ensued about her
request.
Initially Councillor Mery Baker
was in favor of the township giving
Mrs. McCreary "a small amount",
but later changed his mind. Council-
lor Nelson Underwood said he would
prefer to see her get support from
business sponsors.
"How do you handle the next one
(with a similar request)?" asked
Mr. Underwood.
Councillor Paul Elgie was in favor
of giving Mrs. McCreary a donation,
but could not persuade Mr. Under-
wood or Mr. Baker.
"If she comes to me, I'll give her a
donation," pledged Mr. Baker and
so did Mr. Elgie.
