The guest speaker was Mrs.
Dorothy Ruddeli, treasurer of WMS
Connell, using the theme, , "Foot-
steps.to the Future". Going back to
1875, even before the forming of the
Presbyterian Church, in Canada, a
group of Presbyterian woiriee

their French- mission work. These
women eventually became the WMS
and the work has confirmed ever
sine Down through the years, over.
120\ women in the Presbyterian
church have responded to calls for
service and needs in the comms nitzy
and around the world.
. The speaker added, "We should
continue and increase our com-
mitment to all phases of the work.
As our footsteps take us . into the
future, into 1989, our,, special an-
niversary celebratian, ;:let us go into
the world with Christ, Who has
demonstrated the.way of service and
has promised to be with us always."
The 75th anniversary, of .the WMS
will be celebrated in May, 1989, at'
the University of Western Ontario,
London.
Miss Margaret Alexander,
member of WMS Council, installed
the 1988-89 executive, with Mrs.
Margaret Ford,3hitton,:as weakling
a second term. The 1989 annual
WINS DRAW—Matt Keil, a member of the Howick Pre -Novice
'N hockey .team, was the winner of a week at Huronia Hockey School
during the recent 'Howick Athletics' Banquet. The names of all
athletes were placed in a drum, with the winner chosen at the ban-
