She still lives in the farmhouse right across the road from where she was born. She. enjoys knitting and bakes her own breadLShe also is an honorary member of the Women's Missionary Societyof Chalmers Presbyterian Church. Miss Laidlaw has no secret .to living a long life, saying it is something over which we really have no control. The, event Murray mpspn chairs.._. water system subscribers Whitechurch—Murray Simpson was elected chairman of the Whitechurch Water System shareholders when the annual meeting was held April 19 at the community hall. There were 20 members present. Other officers are: secretary, Cathy Lubbers; treasurer, ,Kthleen Gibson; maintenance men, Angus Falconer, Bill Purdon and Murray Simpson; directors -at -large, Roger Benninger, Angus Falconer and Bevin Tiffin. The annual water maintenance fee for April 1, 1988 to April 1,1989, is set at $80. It was -decided that future annual meetings be held in March at which time the new rate will be set. The list of rulings was revised. Any new applications for water from the system will ' be decided by :the board of directors. An official board of six directors has the authority:to, make decisions on running the. system between annual meetings. The chairman, secretary and treasurer of the system will be on this board, as well -as three direc- tors -at -large. -.
