Ken Wood,, Madill principal, teacher Marc Forrest and students Darryl Button, Paulette Lippert, Tom McDonald, Kendra Penn ingt m and Leanne Simpson each received awards. Mr. Button has been an honor roll student for five years .andhas competed in mathematics contests for most of his time at Madill. He also has excelled as` Member of the school's volleyball, 'basketball, curling and soccer teams. He ham= also been active in track ,anasl. field • and;a` member of Madill's "R;each for. the Top" team. • Ms. Lippert. is , a member, of the student council, a sehhol 'prefect, and, a 'drama club •ineinber in ad- dition to being an honor roll student. Mr. McDonald is a Grade 12 honor roll student who is actively involved in' sports, including trackand field, soccer, volleyball, basketball and hockey. He is also in the school Audio Club. He is interested in mathematics and science as well as displaying considerable creative ability in electronics. Ms. Pennington is a Grade 10 honor roll student who is a member of the Acro Cheer Squad and a band member. ,She also plays basketball and is a hockey player for the Teeswater Women's -team. Ms. Simpson ids a Grade;. 11 student who, is a'membirof the senior band and an advanced piano student. In sports this year, much of her energy has been directed toward Nordic skiing. Mr. Forrest was honored for con- sistently demonstrating concern for his students both in and out of his classroom. He is currently advisor to the school prefects, co-ordinator of the work experience program for academic students as well as ad- visor to the Effective Speaking Club. Mr. Wood's award recognizes his years as a master teacher, head of the science department, vice- principal and principal. His dedication to education is reflected in the record of the school where students achieve well and go on to higher education.
