congregation of Wingham. United
chtlreh has issued a strong
statement against - recommen
tions put forth by the report: ‘19,1,
• •ward a Christian Understanding of
Sexuality, Lifestyles and Ministry;.
The Merribeisrecently were given
an opportunity to express
opinion on the report's recom-
mendations, after having had a
week to peruse the three pages of
recommendations which essentially
propose that "sexual orientation in
and of itself is not a barrier to
participation in all aspects of the life
and ministry of the church, in-
cluding the order of ministry,"- as
well as liberalizing standards for
what is morally responsible
behavior.

states that four members of
Wingham's Scarlet Dragon Society
— Nathan Peel, Brendan Magee,
Rob Metcalfe and Ken Hyde -- were
recently promoted to the White Belt
level of proficiency.
In fact, the four were promoted
from Whiteto Yellow Belt.

necessary zoning bylaw amencintent

A public meeting was held at the
second ,monthly meeting of council.
As there were no comments or ob-
jections, • council passed the
necessary zoning change amen-
dment. The bylaw noW goes to af-
fected agencies and neighboring
landowners, who have 35 days hi
which to object.
The property in question is located
at Lot 40, Plan 410 and currently is
known as Andy's Farm Supplies.
The proposed institutional use is for
a church and Jake Kikkert ,made
application for a zoning change
earlier this year on behalf of the

Wednesday, April 27. Cadets are to

kit inspection that evening.

A b• idatibmitted by John Haines of
RR 4, Wingham, has been accepted
to rent Tirrtiberry Township's farm
for two years.
Two bids were received and
opened at the second monthly
meeting of Turnberry council. Mr.
Haines' bid of $52 per acre per year
for the 50 -acre parcel is the higher of
„the two. The farm is located at part
Lots 15, Con. 9 and 10.
The lease extends from April 30 of
this year to Dec. 31, 1989.
