The Madill track and field team
competed in the first outdoor meet of
the season last Thursday, April 21 —
• the Medway Relays at London.
• Although the Madill team was
unable to retain its hold on the
championship trophy at the meet,
the athletes did have -a strong
showing, The, fiekl team placed
second overall, losing .a close battle
for points to Medway.
Madill's Junior boys' relay team
of Mike Cardy, Allen Bailie, Adam
Armstrong and Jeff Pollard
defeated St. Pat's. of Sarnia in an
exciting 100-100-280-400 relay. This
Madill team placed second °Vera
— the best placing of any relay team
Madill has entered over the years at
this particular meet.
