Following the summer vacation the pulpits of three of the churches of town were filled by their own pastors on Sunday, who received a very warm reception. Old Sol shone brightly and the thermometer reg- istered the highest degree of temp- erature that has been experienced for 'some time. Quite a number of the faithful braved the heat and were found in their family pews. At James St. Sunday, School the record for the first time this year fell' just below the 200 mark.
