Mrs. MacRae
Mrs. MacRae's class has gotten
some new gerbils and their names
are Chocolate , and Butterscotch.
Some of thestudents have read up to
40 books in their reading program so
far this year! They are doing a new
theme on dinosaurs. They have
learned a new song called "Old
McSmurfie Had a Farm" and en-
joyed singing it !

Mrs. Szarek
Mrs. Szarek's Grade 3-4 class
enjoyed a day at the circus in Kit-
chener on April 8. They are busy
doing circus activities in language
arts and math and also are
preparing a circus program for the
spring concert.

Mrs. Schedler
This week the Grade 5s are prac-
tising for a concert inv./filch they will
be doing' a French play and choral
reading as well as some songs. They
have switched teachers with the
Grade 1 class and enjoyed having
Mrs. MacRae. The students had fun
recycling paper, using a blender,
some screens and an iron!

Mrs. Train
Mrs. Train's class is learning how
to make lunches .in their cooking
class. They enjoyed doing Easter
activities such as coloring eggs and
making Easter baskets. Mrs.
Graham came to their class late last
month to do finger painting and
design painting.

Mrs. Overholt
Late last month, Mrs. Overholt's
class had Mrs. Graham come in and
do activities which were centred
around finger painting. The students
really enjoyed it!
Last Friday they went to the
circus with Mrs, Szarek's Grade 3-4s
and Mrs. Train's class. They
stopped at McDonald's for lunch and
had a very good day. They really
enjoyed having the author Janet
Foster come to speak to them.

The students presently are
working on movies. The class is
divided into four groups and each
group is hard at work setting up,
props, drawing pictures and
working with plasticine. Each group
is working on a pizillation drama
and animation. The students are
having lots of fun working on these
movies.
In industrial arts the Students
have just taken a test. They are
working on clocks, lampl, Metal and

Altogether, it look about 20 hours.
A few years ago, Mr. Matsuoka
was in France and stayed there for
four years. He can now speak
French fluently.
In Japan he lives in a town called
Yoro. He teaches children aged 11 to
13. He teaches them English and
Japanese at a private school.
From all the students and staff, we
hope he enjoys his stay in Wingham.

Cindy Steckley, a student at the F.
E. Madill Secondary School, has
been working with Mrs.. Nic.holsonin
our school office. Cindy hasbrought
with her much experience about
computers and has been a great help
with our office computer which we
have had about three months.

Group B and Group C went on a
letter chase around the church.
Group A is learning sign language.
Mr. Cretier told us how to put on
bandages and what you do after you
get a cut or a nosebleed. He told us
about direct pressure. He showed us
a first aid kit and what is in it.
Michelle, Alysha, Jennifer, Heath-
er, Evelyn, Nicole and Julie brought
us nutritious snacks and Sara and
Elizabeth also earned their Nutri-
tion Badges. Group A did skits as
part of their Hostess badges.
On Saturday Group A went on a
hike and cooked, bannock. They had
fun. Mrs. Matz helped them make
bannock, Mr. Matz took them on a
hike. They found clam shells and
talked about birds and animals like
raccoons and snakes. Mrs. Richard-
son drove the Brownies to Bluevale.
These Brownies got badges:

The Town of Wingham has recently decided, to establish a
low rise rehabilitation program which would provide provincial
funds to upgrade older low-rise apartment units in the
municipality.
