BELGRAVE—The annual hockey
banquet and dance were held in the
WI Hall on Friday, April 8, with a
large, crowd in' attendance for1 a pot-
luck supper.
The coaches thanked the boys for
their year of achievements and the
sponsors who donated money for the
boys to attend several tournaments.
Larry Robinson made a presen-
tation to Glen Coultes who has
coached hockey in Belgrave for
more than 20 years. Mrs. Coultes
was presented with a fruit basket.
The Belgrave Novice team
recently participated in their end -of -
season tournament in Goderich.
Belgrave lost the first game to
Brussels but came back to defeat
Goderich 2-1. Goderich got on the
scoreboard first but Wayne Fenton
came back to tie the game in the
first period. Both teams played
extremely well but it was Belgrave's
Eugene Fenton who scored the
winning goal.
This meant Belgrave would play
the B Championship game against
Blyth. Belgrave tried hard but Blyth
proved unbeatable. Belgrave's
coaches and fans were proud of their
team's effort all season and their
accomplishment in the tournament.
