• The Huron branch of the Ontario
Geological Society spent a day at the
Toronto Archives, with a group of 40
attending. With access to maps,
newspapers and audio-visual
material, the group was shown
original documents of the 18th
century and how they were
preserved. Everyone made good use
of indices and descriptive guides and
file listings in the reading room in
researching their ancestors. Leon
Warrnski was the tour guide.
On May 4 the branch will hold a
beginners' workshop; everyone is
welcome. Topics emphasized will be
"Materials You Should Gather" and
"Material Preparation". - The
meeting will be held at 7:30 p.rn. in
the Goderich Assessment Office
boardroom.
