An Easter sunrise service was
held in Trinity Anglican Church
Sunday morning, April 3, at 7 a.m.
(Lessons were read by several
members and special music was
provided by the choir under the
direction of Mrs. Jean Underwood.
Immediatety following the service,
everyone shared a parish breakfast.

FORDVVICH — The First Maitland
Venturer Company,led by Jim and
Lynn Timperley, attended the an-
nual Venturers' Shoot -a -Rama
recently at Camp Samac, Oshawa.
In 'the rifle competition in: marks-
manship on three targets, done in
three positions (standing, prone and
kneeling), Jeff Williams of Clifford
captured a •bronze medallion or
third plate in the Senior Three
position, with a tbtal of 249 points out
of a possible 300. The other six
members who, a derided can be proud'
Of their *tooting, with alle'cores over
230 They competed with more than
200 Venturers frwn all Ontario.,
The Venturers and their „leaders'
also wm$ to the -first Venturere,Ve-
hicle Races on April 5, hosted by the
24th Kitchener Venturers Company
and' held in St. Jamei;Rosemotuit
United Church, Kitchener.
The airs had to be built from a
KO Kar Kit but with no rules or re-
strict:iota as to weight, design, ete.
They were then judged for origin-
ality, workmanship and speed. It
was a fan night for the boys and
leaders' and proved. to be quite
successful for First Maitland boys

NATURE NUTS
The fourth meeting of the Gorrie I
"Nature Nuts" 4-11 Club was held
April 4 at 7 p.m. at the home of Mrs.
Barb Bennett.
The members discussed the
sightS, sounds, smells and tastes en-
pountered in nature exploration.
Positive and negative effects man
has on nature also were discussed.
The junior leader, Ronda•Bennett,
explained why some species of
animals are endangered. Nature
photography also was discussedand
dealt with the composition of a
nature scene.
The group met March 28 at the
Brewer home. During the meeting,
first aid was discussed and Mrs.
Brewer, a registered nursing
assistant, demonstrated how to
wrap a sprained ankle and how to
put on a sling.
The members also read about
swimming and what water is safe to
drink. Valerie Brewer demonstrated
how to make a trench candle before
the members enjoyed a snack of
